NSW: Cole agrees to hear from union that wants him to quit
The head of the Royal Commission into the building industry has agreed to hear froma union that wants him to stand down.
At the Royal Commission in Sydney, counsel for the Construction Forestry Mining andEnergy Union, IAN LATHAM, has made an application for Commissioner TERENCE COLE to disqualifyhimself on the grounds of bias.
Commissioner COLE initially refused to hear the matter, but this afternoon agreed tohear from the CFMEU at the Melbourne hearings on Monday morning.
In the meantime, the union says it will take the matter to the Federal Court tomorrow morning.
The CFMEU has repeatedly claimed that the Commission is politically motivated and istrying to discredit the union.
