Atlanta Receiving More New Residents Than All But Four Other Major Metro Areas, Census Bureau American Community Survey Finds

WHAT:

The U.S. Census Bureau will hold a news conference to highlightnew American Community Survey data showing that more than 500 peoplemove into the Atlanta metro area each day. According to the survey,Atlanta ranks fifth in the nation among total in-migrants. Other datawill show the status of education, income, housing values and childpoverty in Georgia and areas of 250,000 population or more within thestate, including:

-- The Atlanta, Augusta, Macon and Savannah metropolitanstatistical areas

-- The city of Atlanta, and

-- Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett counties
